Molded dash kits contain pieces that are three dimensional (3D). If you view the molded dash photo above note the upper right corner of the main dash, it curves 90 degrees from the top edge to turn downward along the right edge, the dash also has a front surface, therefore a 3D piece is required for this fit as a flat piece would not be able to conform without having unwanted surface material left over. Flat dash kits contain pieces that are flat, flat dash pieces are limber so they can bend and twist to conform to the surface they are applied to. While they can bend and twist somewhat, they cannot be stretched or shrunk back into themselves. Flat dash pieces have a protective polyurethane coating on them. Molded dash pieces do not have the same type protective coating, therefore molded dash pieces and flat dash pieces do not match exactly.
